
- The Cambridge Community Garden was founded in 2009 to teach and encourage gardening of all types. It contains "victory garden" style plots for rental, and park-like common area plantings of fruit trees, berries, an herb garden, and flowers. The garden is located on Washington Street in the former Asgrow Seed Company trial gardens.
- The Cambridge Community Forest is a 140-acre wooded property at the edge of Cambridge, owned and managed by the Agricultural Stewardship Association. Open dawn till dusk year-round, it offers trails for walking, hiking, and snowshoeing, fishing on White Creek, bird-watching, and educational programs on sustainable forestry.
- The Québécois Bread Oven is an outdoor clay oven built in 2008 as part of the 400 year anniversary of Quebec City. Local residents can bring bread dough to scheduled bakes, and it is often used to bake pizza for local events. The oven is located between the Lovejoy building and Freight Depot behind Hubbard Hall.
- The Hubbard Hall Tune Jam meets every other Tuesday 5:30PM in the Beacon Feed building behind Hubbard Hall to learn Irish, Scottish, Québécois, Shetland, and New England traditional music by ear. All skill levels and instrument types are welcome.
Local Businesses
- The Cambridge Farmer's Market is a source of fresh local produce, meats, cheeses, breads, handicrafts, and more. It is held on Sundays, usually from May through December.
- Cambridge Food Co-op — A cooperatively-owned grocery store on Main Street offering local and organic produce, bulk items, natural foods, cheese, dairy, and environmentally friendly products. Open to the public, no membership required.
- Battenkill Books — An independent bookstore on Main Street hosting author events, book clubs, poetry nights, a weekly sit-and-knit evening, and Mud U, a pop-up community education program. A 2025 finalist for Publishers Weekly Bookstore of the Year.
Non-Profits
- Hubbard Hall — An arts and education center housed in a 19th century opera house on Main Street. Hubbard Hall presents theatre and music performances and offers classes for all ages, artist residencies, and community programs.
- Cambridge Community Partnership — A nonprofit promoting economic vitality in rural southern Washington County through downtown revitalization, historic preservation, and community development.
- Agricultural Stewardship Association — Preserves local farm and forest lands for future generations. A very important resource for those that want to keep Cambridge and surrounding areas rural. The ASA has protected over 33,000 acres so far, which is about 50 square miles.
- Cambridge Food Pantry — Provides nutritious food and household products to residents of the Cambridge School District.
